Case Study #1
One Zoom System- Two Cameras

Requirement:

Our customer required an OPTEM zoom that could feed two C mount cameras at the same time.  The stipulation was the need to have two different fields of view shown at any given zoom magnification. The need for coax illumination and correct image orientation was also required.

Our Custom Solution:

OPTEM arrived at a final design after utilizing as many standard components as possible.  This system was based around four standard OPTEM products.  The Zoom 70(1) with coax(3) and internal focus(2) was situated, unmodified, at the bottom of the system.  Attached to it was one of OPTEM's slightly modified dual adapters(4).  This provided the 80-20 split so the image could be directed to the two cameras.  Directly above the dual adapter was a shortened 2/3x TV tube.(6)  Located off the side was a modified right angle 2x TV tube.(6)  The mirror(5) in the 2x side provided the second reflection to keep the image correct.

Similar systems have been developed providing different ratios of magnification to the cameras.  Alternate uses for systems like this can provide equal size field of views to two different format cameras.
